About the Role

Are you a results-driven finance professional eager to broaden your commercial exposure within an ASX-listed organisation? We have an exciting opportunity for a Group Accountant to join our dynamic team!

As our Group Accountant, you’ll play a crucial role in maintaining the financial integrity of our organisation. Collaborating closely with the Group Financial Controller, you’ll be responsible for preparing the company's statutory financial reports, managing the external audit process, and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of the company's financial information. Your responsibilities will span from hands-on project reporting to compliance and month-end reporting, giving you a comprehensive view of our financial operations.

What makes this role particularly exciting is the opportunity to contribute to vital financial initiatives, assist with strategic budgeting and forecasting processes, and manage and report on the financial performance of high-impact client projects that directly influence the organisation's success. You will also support effective inventory management, enhancing operational efficiency and financial performance.
Some of the duties you will be responsible for include:

  • Complete statutory financial reports, including half-year and annual reports for ASX lodgement.
  • Prepare consolidated financial and management reports, including board pack preparation.
  • Support project reporting and inventory management.
  • Manage the external audit process, ensuring compliance with AASB and preparing key audit papers.
  • Liaise with external tax advisors and service providers as needed.
  • Contribute to payroll compliance and labour costing analysis.
  • Assist with annual budgeting, periodic forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Provide support to the Group Financial Controller as required.

About You

To play a part in our continued expansion and success, we are seeking someone who ideally has:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Commerce or Economics, with CA or CPA certification.
  • Five to eight years of experience in a postgraduate accounting role.
  • Experience with ASX-listed companies, whether through Big 4 or large accounting firms or within a listed organisation is highly valued, as is prior industry experience or exposure to companies with substantial project revenue.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong commitment to meeting deadlines.
  • Results-oriented with proven expertise in analysis, planning, and organisation.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

In addition, the following would be considered highly advantageous:

  • Power BI experience.
  • Epicor or other ERP experience.
