Our client is seeking a skilled Accounting Manager to join their finance team. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily accounting operations, managing the month-end close process, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial statements. This role will work closely with the Controller and cross-functional teams to support the company’s financial goals and drive process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management: Efficiently oversee month-end close, branch financial reviews, and other financial duties, ensuring alignment with standardized processes and procedures.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX reporting, and testing standards for branch operations, maintaining the integrity of financial data.
- Collaboration and Support: Partner with branch management to address financial requests, resolve issues, and provide insights during monthly project reviews to identify risks, inefficiencies, and develop mitigation strategies.
- Reporting and Forecasting: Manage and update financial tools for monthly reporting, assist in planning and forecasting by reviewing expenses, backlog, and other financial data, and ensure accuracy in preliminary financials.
- Cash Performance: Maximize billing, drive collections, and forecast future cash opportunities to enhance branch cash performance.
- Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with regional peers to share best practices, drive process improvements, and support the development of strategic financial initiatives.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned to support branch and company financial objectives.
- Education : Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or other related field from a four-year institution. The bachelor's degree is a minimum educational requirement for this position, and cannot be waived.
- Certifications: Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) will be bonus.
- Required Experience: 4+ years’ experience of relevant, job-related experience.
- Preferred Experience: Recent experience in the construction industry.
- Good understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), financial accounting statements, and business trends.
- Adequate experience with accounting software packages and MS Office; Excel, Word, Access, etc.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workload, and work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Understanding of cost accounting principles, inventory management, and the ability to analyze manufacturing costs.
- Functional knowledge of managing and analyzing WIP schedules to ensure accurate tracking of project progress and financial performance.
- Ability to work with others in a positive and professional manner and to develop and maintain strong working relationships with co-workers and management.
- Exceptional organization skills and high attention to detail. Completes all administrative tasks in assigned times (required)
