We promote from within and support continuing education, technical training and skills development.PositionWe require an experienced Setup Machinist to work in our Lathes department working with 3 and 4 axis Okuma and Nakamura Lathes.Review detailed manufacturing printsCreate and or edit G-Code at the machineSetup jobs with any necessary programming and fixturingSetup the machine with required toolingRun the machine while checking for machine errors and part non-conformanceMake adjustments to offset coordinates to compensate for materials, tooling or machining conditions.Inspect parts for adherence to print dimensions and tolerancesWork independently with minimal direction from senior operations staff to setup jobs, perform machining functions, and troubleshoot machining related issuesHit pre-determined efficiency goals when setting up or operating machines.Continuously strive to help improve processesFollow department specific procedures when setting up and operating machines, as well as inspecting parts.Other duties as assignedQualificationsWe are looking for a hands-on professional with attention to detail and the ability to think through problems and implement solutions. You must have:3+ Years of CNC setup or operation experience on lathes or millsAbility to read and comprehend blueprints (including GD&T features such as true position and profile of a surface)Ability to manipulate G-Code programs, change work offsets, and adjust tool offsetsAbility to change, touch-off, and indicate tools for CNC lathes or mills.Ability to lift up to 35 lbsAbility to stand and walk up to 90% of the dayAbility to bend, twist, turn, and reach up to 100% of the dayAbility to work in a shop environment –Be punctual and maintain an excellent attendance record Work with supervisor, engineering & support teams to resolve problem situations as requiredPay and BenefitsPay depends on skill and experience.Blue Cross/Blue Shield health insurance plan.Optional dental and vision coverage.Disability and life insurance.401k plan with company contribution and 50% match.(10) paid holidays, (10) paid time off (PTO) days and (5) paid sick leave (PSL) days a year.We are an equal opportunity employer committed to our customers, employees and the community in which we live.
