General Description: The Accountant - Grants Manager is responsible for grants management for federal, state and county funded programs and submitting billing for reimbursement. In addition, this position will prepare and submit reports for HMIS, HUD Secure Systems as well as other related duties. Schedule: Full time. This person reports to the Chief Financial Officer. This position may supervise other accounting positions.
Required Education, Knowledge and Skills / Abilities to Perform Essential Job Functions: AA degree with two years' experience in accounting operations. Grant accounting experience preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required. Ability to quickly learn other computer programs (HUD Secure Systems, HMIS, etc.) is necessary. The accounting staff personnel work as a team so the ability to work with others and be flexible with job duties is essential. Good customer service skills are essential.
Summary of Essential Functions, Responsibilities and Duties:
- Prepare and transmit data for HUD subsidized rents and prepare monthly reports
- Prepare journal entries, and input general ledger data
- Serve as backup for input of accounts payable invoices and preparation of checks
- Maintain representative payee accounting records
- Prepare and submit financial reports in a timely manner as required by terms of grants
- Review and prepare budget modifications for grants
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual grant reports and fund requests
- Prepare and perform bank deposits
- Prepare summary analysis of billing data
- Utilize computer systems to: disseminate information to stakeholders (internal & external), record, confirm and verify Time & Attendance, complete annual trainings, and monitor staff training
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
