Job Requirements / Description

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience working in Data Science or an analytics/quantitative field
  • 3+ years of direct experience in Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Signal Processing, or Natural Language Processing (NLP)
  • Solid experience using Python (including NumPy/Pandas) and SQL
  • Solid experience working with Apache Spark
  • Strong fundamentals in problem solving, algorithm design and complexity analysis
  • Extensive experience in researching and developing machine learning solutions, leveraging Jupyter notebooks in EMR, Kubeflow, SageMaker, or other ML platforms
  • Hands-on experience with web APIs, containers, orchestration, CI/CD and testing
  • Hands-on experience with implementing and testing Python APIs using a well-known Python web or API Framework (Flask, FastAPI, etc.)
  • Experience working in Agile Scrum environments
  • Experience implementing solutions in a public cloud environment (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
  • Strong ability to set goals and timelines, provide estimates proactively, and a sense of ownership and accountability over work
  • Expertise in data analytics and data modeling
  • Ability to independently write and review code in Python and SQL
  • Working proficiency in ML algorithm selection, training, and deployment
  • Is aware of and can apply emerging ML technology/tools
  • Demonstrates advanced problem-solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to apply innovation and creativity in building solutions focused on improving people’s lives
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks/assignments
  • Leverages expertise in data science and ML to answer questions about the methodology and findings in meetings
  • Ability to develop healthy working relationships and collaborate with peers and leaders
  • Solutions-oriented with an ability to keep an open mind while finding agreeable solutions
  • Experience coaching and providing guidance to more junior team members

Responsibilities

  • Use statistical and machine learning techniques to create scalable solutions for vehicle telemetry data and video analysis, and perform R&D to drive discovery of new generation mobility products
  • Lead limited complexity Data Science projects, including defining objectives, scheduling, estimating costs, allocating resources, and ensuring timely delivery
  • Design end-to-end flow, encompassing exploratory data analysis for trend identification, pattern recognition, insights, and monitoring
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and optimize models/pipelines for efficiency
  • Apply advanced statistical and ML techniques to solve complex business challenges, leveraging large datasets and cutting-edge algorithms
  • Develop and deploy sophisticated ML models and algorithms, considering scalability, interpretability, and real-time demands
  • Execute the complete model life cycle: data identification, cleaning, EDA, model training, validation, and deployment
  • Oversee data pipeline optimization for accurate and efficient data storage and processing
  • Design efficient solutions and code for processing extensive data volumes
  • Evaluate and select appropriate ML techniques and algorithms for specific use cases, documenting reasoning and efficacy of approach
  • Read, understand, and modify CI/CD pipelines for ML projects
  • Review monitoring pipelines, analyze metrics, and assess performance, including review of relevant frameworks
  • Lead code reviews, ensuring compliance with software development best practices, providing guidance, and conducting self-unit testing
  • Produce clean, reusable, and high-quality production code with minimal supervision, even in unfamiliar codebases, frameworks, or languages
  • Provide input on MLOps tools, workflows, and solutions for the enterprise
  • Prepare and present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences
