Job Description
Longbridge is excited to be adding a Public Relations & Brand Strategist to our world-class Marketing team!
Longbridge Financial is looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual with a proven track record to join our marketing team and help elevate Longbridge Financial's brand and messaging to the next level. As the Public Relations & Brand Strategist, you'll play a critical role in raising awareness about the company and new home equity product innovations. You'll develop and execute a comprehensive and integrated communication & brand strategy that supports our business objectives, enhances our brand reputation, and engages our diverse audiences. You'll manage the company's reputation, ensure brand consistency, and identify potential areas for brand building. You'll be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with editors of consumer and business financial publications, pitching and securing stories about our company and products, writing think pieces, and aligning PR activities with our holistic marketing campaigns.
To be successful in this role, you must possess exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, and have a proven track record in media relations with editors and journalists within the financial industry. A passion for storytelling and the ability to think creatively are also essential qualities for this position. You should have extensive experience with brand management and a good understanding of our industry. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Develop and implement strategic public relations plans to enhance Longbridge Financial's brand, messaging and new product innovations to the public.
  • Develop brand strategies for the company and conduct research to better set Longbridge apart
  • Create guidelines that define our company's voice both online and offline (including terminology and slogans)
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with media outlets, journalists, and industry influencers to secure positive coverage and opportunities.
  • Proactively identify and pitch newsworthy stories and angles to media outlets, including drafting press releases, media pitches, and other materials.
  • Monitor and manage media coverage of Longbridge Financial, including responding to media inquiries and preparing spokespersons for interviews.
  • Collaborate with creative team to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all communication channels.
  • Assist in crisis communication and issues management, including developing messaging and coordinating responses to potential PR crises.
  • Analyze and report on the effectiveness of public relations efforts, including media coverage and sentiment.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in public relations and make recommendations for incorporating new strategies and tactics into Longbridge's PR efforts.
  • Support internal communications efforts, including drafting internal communications materials.
  • Oversee participation, selection and promotion of industry events and local employee events through PR related activities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations and stakeholders to support Longbridge Financial's corporate social responsibility initiatives.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to provide strategic PR counsel and support for company initiatives.
  • Maintain a positive and professional image for Longbridge Financial's in all interactions and communications.
  • Monitor and manage company's online reputation and customer reviews
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of public relations/communications/branding experience in the financial/mortgage industry are required or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary. PLEASE NO FIRST TIME JOBS OUT OF COLLEGE. We wish you the best, and maybe we can talk in the future, but this role requires experience.
  • PR Agency experience a plus.
  • Portfolio of brand-building projects is a plus
  • Existing relationships and experience working with media books.
  • A deep understanding of the media landscape and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with media outlets and influencers.
  • A proven track record of developing and executing successful communication strategies that achieve business goals and enhance brand reputation.
  • Superb communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively and persuasively with various audiences and stakeholders, both internally and externally.
  • Strong research skills.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Self-motivated, creative, and able to work independently.
