Automotive Service Manager needed for a growing domestic dealership in upstate New York. This is an excellent long-term opportunity for a process-driven, experienced Service Manager who excels at team building and developing talent. The dealership has a supportive, forward-thinking Dealer Principal and a strong, engaged team of technicians and service advisors ready to grow with the right leader.

The ideal candidate is an experienced Automotive Service Manager and a consistent leader who fosters growth, leads by example, and is committed to providing a great customer experience. It is important that the Service Manager hired holds meaningful meetings, actively spends time training their team members with 1:1 sessions and is someone who loves to see their employees grow and flourish. There is significant potential for department growth, and the right Service Manager will maximize that by cultivating a motivated and high-performing team.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the service department
  • Create and implement processes to increase efficiency, customer satisfaction, and profitability in the service department.
  • Set a clear vision for the Service Department to achieve targeted performance goals.
  • Hold daily and weekly meetings for the department, as well as 1:1s with individual team members.
  • Ensure the department has green CSI through building and maintaining relationships with customers and ensuring that they receive high-quality service.
  • Oversee the Service Advisors and ensure that ROs are written up and closed out in a timely manner.
  • Manage and supervise the service technicians, ensuring that all work is performed to the highest standards and within established timelines.
  • Provide training to service technicians to help them improve their skills and knowledge.
  • Recruit, interview and train service staff; handle performance reviews
  • Create an exceptional customer experience to drive customer loyalty
  • Develop and manage budgets and operating plans for the service department, monitoring performance and making adjustments as needed.
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge about the latest automotive technologies and stay current on industry trends.
  • Collaborate with other departments within the dealership to ensure seamless and efficient operations.
  • Monitor/control all warranty activity to ensure compliance with policies and procedures
  • Ensure the Service area is customer-customer ready with proper displays and information
  • Other duties as required

Compensation / Benefits:

  • Compensation range will be in the $110,000 - $130,000 range for the successful candidate with a proven track record as a Service Manager at a new car dealership. Definite room for growth as the department grows!! Benefits package will be provided
