Position Overview:

The Director of Talent Management is responsible for leading talent development and developing retention strategies to meet the evolving needs of the organization. This role will design and drive initiatives related to learning and development, performance management, leadership development, and succession planning. This leadership role involves assessing learning and development needs, creating effective development strategies, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals. The Director of Talent Management manages a team of learning and development professionals.

Learning and Development:

  • Foster an environment of continuous learning and development, promoting professional growth and engagement.
  • Design and implement employee development programs that promote growth, skill-building, and career advancement.
  • Training Strategy - Develop and implement a comprehensive training strategy aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Needs Assessment - Conduct regular assessments to identify training needs across various departments.
  • Program Design - Design and develop learning programs, materials, and resources based on identified needs including a community leader program for new and existing community leaders.
  • Delivery - Oversee the delivery of learning and development programs through a variety of methods, including classroom training and learning sessions, workshops, online modules, and on-the-job training.
  • Technology Integration - Explore and integrate innovative technologies to enhance training delivery and efficiency.
  • Evaluation - Establish metrics to assess the effectiveness of training programs, communicate feedback to senior leadership, department heads, and HR, and continuously improve based on feedback.
  • Compliance - Ensure training programs comply with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Budget Management - Develop and manage the training budget effectively.

Performance Management and Retention:

  • Develop and oversee performance management processes, including goal setting, feedback, and reviews.
  • Implement strategies and initiatives to retain top talent and improve overall employee satisfaction.
  • Manage the creation and maintenance of succession planning frameworks to ensure continuity in key roles.

Organizational Development:

  • Lead the design and execution of leadership development and training initiatives to build leadership capacity at all levels.
  • Work closely with business leaders and HR partners to align talent management initiatives with broader organizational goals.
  • Support change management processes, ensuring alignment of talent strategies during periods of organizational change.
  • Monitor talent management trends and practices, bringing innovative solutions to the organization.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, organizational development, business administration, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing employee development programs.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design.
  • Strong understanding of performance management, succession planning, and organizational development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze learning needs and tailor programs accordingly.
  • Leadership and team management skills.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems and other training technologies.
  • Certification in training or HR (e.g., CPLP, SHRM-CP) is an advantage.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

  • This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
  • This position requires manual dexterity, the ability to lift files and open filing cabinets.
  • This position requires sitting, bending, stooping, or standing, as necessary.
