Position Overview
UIC is seeking a Billing Functional Analyst to join our University Bursar Office. This role provides support for business operations of the office of University Bursar, participating in reviewing existing systems/processes to identify areas for improvement and developing enhancements accordingly.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Handle billing services related business operations including creating data reports, sponsor billing processing, and addressing software-related errors or outages.
  2. Provide reports to internal University Bursar staff that facilitate their assigned areas of processes and daily activities.
  3. Expand knowledge of billing services to act as backup for other team members.
  4. Learn new business processes related to accounts receivable functions, identify areas for improvement, and recommend enhancements.
  5. Identify business process-related problem areas using data to ensure quality performance.
  6. Develop, document, and maintain University Bursar procedures manuals and systems documentation.
  7. Evaluate new technologies/products and existing software, providing detailed analysis of proposed solutions.
  8. Participate in feature testing of University Bursar applications during upgrades.
  9. Serve as liaison to University Bursar Billing Services application vendors.
  10. Serve on University committees and project teams as appropriate.
  11. Perform other duties and responsibilities appropriate for an IT Tech Associate.

Minimum Qualifications Required:
  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Any one or any combination totaling two (2) years from the following categories:
    • College coursework which includes Information Technology (IT), IT Management, Programming, IT systems, or a closely related discipline.
    • Work experience in IT-related functions, such as hardware/software support, programming, network design, or closely related field.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology (IT), IT Management, Programming, IT systems, or a closely related discipline.
  • Experience in IT-related field such as information systems and business process analysis.
  • One year of work experience in reporting and process analysis.
