Description
Innovetive Petcare is seeking an experienced veterinary operations leaders to join our team as a Regional Operations Manager!
This is a remote position. Individual must reside in or be open to relocating to one of the 16 states that Innovetive currently has practice locations (AL, AR, FL, GA, LA, MD, MA, MS, NY, NC, OK, PA, SC, TN, TX, and VA)
The Regional Operations Manager (ROM) is responsible for everything the clinics in their region do or fail to do. They serve their hospitals by assisting site leadership in achieving their practice vision and goals. The ROM will support site operations, Innovetive initiatives, and their region's business functions, which may consist of ~5-15 hospitals. This role acts as a liaison between the Innovetive Support Center and the veterinary practice. The ROM will build and grow exceptional relationships with existing and newly acquired practices. The ROM will be responsible for spending time in the field with hospital leadership and staff, which is critical for success. This individual will work directly with veterinary practices to improve processes and profitability and identify and implement local growth initiatives.
Depending on geography, travel may be up to 75%.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee day to day operations of an assigned portfolio of hospitals with full P&L responsibility; grow their portfolio.
  • Collaborate with hospital leadership to develop business strategy and aid its implementation.
  • Create action plans, sets and manages goals, delegate tasks, and tracks metrics.
  • Negotiate and mediate conflicts; coach and provide feedback to hospital leadership.
  • Assist in the development and management of Innovetive-wide initiatives.
  • Acquire and maintain knowledge of organizational and local practice policies and procedures.
  • Ensure proper staff scheduling and optimization; assist in site labor management.
  • Analyze and interpret operational reports and identifies areas for improvement.
  • Champion and implement Innovetive initiatives throughout the region.
  • Onboard new Hospital Managers and ensure a successful introduction to Innovetive.
  • Ensure Hospital Managers are trained in financial and operational systems and methods.
  • Mentor, coach, and set expectations with hospital leadership and staff; conducts annual performance reviews of Managing DVM and Hospital Manager.
  • P&L Management: interpret, explain, and manage the P&L statements for a hospital providing specific coaching to the Hospital Managers to manage variable expenses.
  • Manage revenue growth; assist sites with new client acquisition and client retention efforts, and service line expansions.
  • Grow region's EBITDA in both dollars and margin expansion.
  • Achieve monthly and annual financial budgets.
  • Assist with the preparation and communication of the annual budget.
  • Supervise capital expenditures; identify and build business cases for expansions, relocations, and renovations.
  • Lead region's DVM and Support Staff recruiting in partnership with Innovetive recruiter; close DVM and staff requisitions.
  • Makes recommendations for staff training and development.
  • Engage and develop relationships with DVM staff to support a high standard of care is being performed and ensure DVM retention.

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education is required; MBA preferred.
  • 3-5 years of multi-state/multi-site veterinary practice management experience; must have specific experience in emergency and specialty practices.
  • Work remotely and can travel up to ~75% of the time.
  • Knowledge of practice management processes, efficiencies, standards, metrics, and benchmarks.
  • Knowledge of veterinary practice management software.
