WHAT ROLE YOU WILL PLAY IN OUR TEAM:
The senior accountant assists in various areas of the corporate accounting and finance function, including, but not limited to; month-end close, reconciliation of accounts, preparation of certain internal reporting, data analysis, and maintenance of certain schedules (budget-to-actuals, forecasts, etc). The senior accountant will gain tremendous experience building and maintaining schedules and dashboards, as well as full cycle accounting experience through supporting month and year end closing processes including audit support. The senior accountant will have excellent exposure, including certain lines of direct reporting to the corporate controller.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Maintain prepaid expense and accrued liability schedules, including amortization of various costs and analyzing for accruals.
  • Assist with reconciling intercompany balances, including working directly with managers at the Dallas-based shared services center to provide support for intercompany charges.
  • Review of bank activity and preparation of bank reconciliations for certain bank accounts.
  • Assist with tracking fixed asset and construction schedules for ongoing projects, including review of invoices for capitalization vs expense treatment, preparation of dashboards and summary reports for management, analysis of budget vs actual spend, valuation reviews, maintenance of property listings and values for insurance purposes, and maintenance of depreciation schedules through posting and reconciling balances.
  • Maintain repository of lease agreements to ensure accurate payments as well as perform monthly reconciliations.
  • Maintain fixed asset schedules, proper treatment of capitalizable costs, asset disposals, and roll forwards.
  • Maintenance of marketing accounts and schedules, including review of vendor invoices and budgets, and reconciliation of accounts.
  • Work directly with the external tax advisor to ensure timely payment and compliance with tax obligations. Review and maintenance of tax GL accounts and schedules.
  • Assist with the preparation of certain internal and external financial statements.
  • Ad hoc analysis of various accounts for reconciliations and planning perspectives.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • Fundamental understanding of GAAP.
  • Analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to analyze financial data and propose informed decisions.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • 4+ years' full cycle accounting - or similar industry accounting experience a plus.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and ability to learn quickly.
  • Microsoft Office knowledge (Intermediate or higher excel skills).
  • Experience working with NetSuite is a plus
