The Patient Financial Services (PFS) Department has an outstanding opportunity for a Quality and Education Analyst position.

WORK SCHEDULE
Full-Time, 100% FTE, 100% Remote, First Shift

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Onboarding and training for new employees and existing employees based on performance needs.
  2. Perform numerous quality audits based on staff performance needs.
  3. Perform a variety of complex professional level compliance analyses of information and data, which requires independent judgment in executing and making decisions and recommendations resulting from that analysis.
  4. Think critically about decisions staff make and provide feedback.
  5. Act as an expert resource to various stakeholders by anticipating and identifying educational and procedural problems.
  6. Use specialized knowledge to make recommendations on policies, plans and projects; participate in the implementation of adopted solutions and projects.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
This position is responsible for onboarding and acclimating new employees to PFS processes as well as refresher training for existing employees. Performing extensive analysis of actions taken by staff when handling UW Medicine patient accounts for insurance billing, insurance follow-up and special programs. They must think critically about decisions staff make and provide feedback to the employees as well as unit supervisors and managers. This position is responsible for developing departmental policies and procedures. Finally, this position must be aware of, understand, and then educate the entire PFS department on workflows as well as systemic changes that impact workflows. This position helps the entire department operate by ensuring the quality of work being done is sufficient and that necessary instructions and training to maintain workflows has been provided.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
A bachelor’s degree in a related field and four to five years of experience in patient accounting, customer service, or a related office environment.
OR
Equivalent education/experience.

DESIRED
Knowledge of Epic Hospital Billing and Professional Billing, and registration systems.
Experience with insurance payers and behavior.
Experience in a medical center or health system environment.
