The Position

Our Global Lead for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging (DEI&B) will help us shape our unique culture by overseeing the development and implementation of strategies and programs across the enterprise that enable our Company’s “We All Belong” value. As leader of this Center of Excellence (COE), this position is responsible for all aspects of DEI&B, including measuring and monitoring company diversity and developing new programs and practices that effectively increase equity and inclusivity in the company culture. This position involves extensive collaboration with business leaders, HR, talent management, as well as developing appropriate external partnerships to advance our strategy worldwide.

Responsibilities

  1. Develop the enterprise’s Global DEI&B strategy and integrate it with the wider Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) strategy.
  2. Design and lead global DEI&B initiatives that realize our strategic aspirations and enable Organon to have a diverse, equitable and inclusive culture.
  3. Collaborate with the HR Leads, Business Leaders, and other COEs to weave DEI&B into all aspects of the HR process, and to drive accountability to achieve organizational DEI&B objectives.
  4. Advise functional/regional business and HR leads on DEI&B initiatives that align with global priorities and strategies while considering local needs and dynamics.
  5. Serve as a strategic advisor and liaison to Employee Resource Group (ERG) leads and executive sponsors to build strategies that increase belonging.
  6. Serve as internal subject matter expert and primary internal point of contact for OFCCP compliance, including management of affirmative action plans and associated audits.
  7. Partner with Workforce Analytics on the divisional metrics and survey insights that inform our DEI&B strategies and programs.
  8. Provide an external perspective on DEI&B best practices through benchmarking, networking, and continuous learning.
  9. Represent and speak on behalf of the company’s DEI&B COE both internally and externally to effectively communicate Organon’s culture and mission to increase internal engagement and attract external talent.
  10. Manage the company’s relationships with external DEI&B partners.
  11. Manage the DEI&B team and financials.

Required Education, Experience and Skills

  1. Demonstrated leadership in and commitment to promoting and addressing issues of DEI&B in a corporate setting.
  2. Broad understanding of DEI&B, including knowledge of the scientific research, legislative and legal environment, emerging trends and practices.
  3. Bachelor’s degree in human resources, industrial/organizational psychology, or a similar field; a Graduate Degree and/or advanced education in DEI&B is preferred.
  4. Experience in working at multiple levels in a complex organization and inspiring and empowering culture change. Willingness to engage in challenging discussions and manage and facilitate courageous conversations. Ability to lead with vision, purposefulness, and conviction.
  5. Effectiveness in working and leading in a matrix organization.
  6. Expert interpersonal and oral and written communication skills, including ability to communicate with clarity and compassion on sensitive topics with stakeholders at all levels of an organization and extensive experience working with senior executives.
  7. Deep understanding of quantitative and qualitative data and proficiency with data analytic tools. Ability to leverage data to inform analysis, evaluate programs and processes, develop goals and metrics, and drive strategy that leads to impactful outcomes and decisions.
  8. Ten plus years’ experience in DEI&B center of excellence.
  9. Experience developing and facilitating DEI&B strategies and programs in global settings.
  10. Deep knowledge of United States EEOC and Affirmative Action compliance requirements.
