Safety Marking LLC is New England’s largest pavement marking company. We have 50 years of experience in the line striping business and are headquartered in Bridgeport, CT with additional locations in Rhode Island and Long Island.

Safety Marking “SMC” is looking to bring on an inventory and parts manager with extensive experience in inventory tracking and procurement. This person will report directly into our Shop Director and will work closely with the Shop, Road and Operations team. SMC has a large mechanic shop for all fleet maintenance of 145 vehicles. The shop requires someone to track part inventory levels, ordering, and stock maintenance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Areas of specific responsibility will include the following:

Parts

  1. Enhance our parts tracking system and create a mini-inventory system
  2. Physically organize our inventory room
  3. Pull part orders for technicians and restock as needed
  4. Receive, stock and update inventory tracker
  5. Place part orders and fill all part requests
  6. Monitor and correct invoices
  7. Manage all warranty part returns to vendors
  8. Manage inventory stock levels and perform weekly inventory tie-out
  9. Track down parts which may involve using a company vehicle to pick up part(s)
  10. Other ad hoc part & inventory tasks
  11. Maintain a clean and safe work environment (Safety is not just our first name!)

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

Important technical skills/functional abilities include:

  1. Valid Medical Card
  2. Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
  3. College Degree preferred
  4. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask
  5. Self-starter/problem solver with excellent communication skills
  6. Strong computer skills to research and place orders as well as follow up with vendors and track inventory / parts in Fleetio and Excel
  7. Good people skills and a positive attitude
  8. Must be able to lift or move 40 lbs. and complete repetitive lifting, bending, and stooping or kneeling.
