Position Purpose
The Sales Manager is responsible for promoting and selling hotel with specific segments including but not limited to: Social, Corporate, Association, Pharma, Auto, Legal, Government, Medical, Financial, Tour & Travel, as a part of the sales and marketing team. Generate hotel awareness through direct phone sales, direct sales calls, trade shows and networking groups. Works closely with Sales and Marketing Director to solicit, sell and confirm group business required to meet budgeted sales goals. Collaborates with Revenue Management, Hotel Operations, and F&B partners to support overall hotel performance and operation.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Create, track, manage, follow-up, and close on pending leads and self-generated leads.
- Punctual phone and email communication.
- Compose drafts and reports. Ability to provide “snapshots” of progress.
- Complete defined steps needed for all sales transactions.
- Conduct property site visits and answer questions regarding hotel, brand, amenities and partners.
- Manage and cultivate long term client relationships that produce both group and corporate business.
- Determine rates in collaboration with DOSM and DORM, prepare proposals, negotiate contracts, service accounts and analyze lost business for the hotel.
- Develop sales plans and strategies to meet or exceed established revenue and room night goals.
- Assist with hotel reservation inquiries/answer reservations phones.
- Scan arrivals three days out (merge, correct any mistakes/add necessary comments).
- Assist Revenue and Reservations managers with help they may require.
- Understand fully the hotel amenities, packages and promotions.
- Monitor customer satisfaction regularly and resolve any outstanding issues to ensure future business.
- Arrange and carry out hotel tours.
- Conduct market research including potential new accounts and competitor intel.
- Provide detailed, accurate and timely communication on groups, corporate clients, and new accounts to the hotel operations team and food and beverage partners.
- Follow up on client payments and commissions.

Qualifications
- Previous background in hospitality
- Previous experience in a hotel sales role
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of business related experience; hospitality industry
