Analytics Engineering Manager

ABOUT THIS POSITION

The Manager/Sr. Manager of Data and Analytics (Analytics Application Delivery) plays a pivotal role in leading technical product delivery of Waystar business intelligence (BI) applications. This individual will lead a team of data analysts, engineers, and architects, ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of high-quality BI solutions that deliver exceptional strategic value for Waystar healthcare customers.

2. Continuously seek feedback from customers to improve BI applications.
3. Leverage data to identify and address customer pain points.

Innovation and Experimentation:

1. Energetically lead a culture of innovation within the team.
2. Encourage curiosity and experimentation thinking laterally to solve business problems and implement new BI technologies.
3. Embrace a fail fast, learn faster mentality rapidly iterating on cloud-native data solutions.

Team Leadership:

1. Mentor a team of data analysts, engineers, and architects.

Analytics Application Delivery:

1. Oversee the entire lifecycle of BI application development, from requirements gathering to deployment and ongoing maintenance.
2. Translates real-world healthcare problems to cutting edge analytics technology solutions.
3. Effectively utilize performance data to resolve issues and prioritize performance optimization improvements.
4. Functions as contributor to project work, in addition to Management duties.

Data Governance:

1. Establish and maintain data governance policies and standards.
2. Ensure data quality, consistency, and security and demonstrate performance.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

1. Build strong relationships with business stakeholders and executive leadership.
2. Communicate effectively and proactively with stakeholders at all levels.
3. Understand, organize, and communicate root causes of problems and successes.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

1. 5-10 years analytics engineering experience.
2. 3-5 years engineering leadership experience.
3. Complete familiarity with self-service analytics, enterprise reporting and data visualization best practices.
4. Experience building and deploying BI products in the Google Cloud framework.
5. Demonstrated competency in RDBMS (e.g. SQL Server, Snowflake or Google Big Query Preferred).
6. Must possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and writing skills.
7. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
8. Detail-oriented.
9. Master of Science degree or higher in the fields of Computer Science, Statistics, or Mathematics.
10. An aptitude for medical informatics is preferred.
