Palace Entertainment is a subsidiary of Parques Reunidos, one of the leading global operators, with more than 60 different assets (theme parks, zoos and marine parks, water parks, and other attractions), spread out over various countries across Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Australia.

The Director of Maintenance oversees the Maintenance Department and contributes to preparing the park for year-round operation, maintaining the park during operation, and winterizing the water playground area for the season.

We are currently looking for a: Castle Park - Director of Maintenance

Salary Range: $60,000 - $100,000

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Create and manage daily maintenance budget including operating expenditures, capital expenditures, labor expenses for the maintenance department.
  • Supervise the full-time maintenance staff, and manage workload for maximum efficiency.
  • Plan the major repairs for the attractions and buildings.
  • Maintain facility in compliance with OSHA, CAL OSHA, and all other pertinent and applicable regulatory guidelines.
  • Train all necessary employees in their specific job functions, and maintain the training log for expiring certification.
  • Ensure all standard operating procedures are followed for park operation, employee relations, timekeeping, and safety including daily, weekly, and monthly documentation.
  • Oversee all major new construction projects using working knowledge of City of Riverside guidelines/restrictions.
  • Complete and maintain all daily safety checks for all attractions and all buildings.
  • Facilitate annual safety inspections with State of California Department of Industrial Relations: Division of Occupational Safety and Health, and take any corrective actions necessary.
  • Act as liaison with all contractors/vendors for the maintenance department.
  • Oversee Halloween constructions and operation.
  • Participate in the Maintenance and Park Duty Manager rotation for the park during the operating season.

Requirements:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Languages: Fluent English

  • Flexibility: Handle multiple priorities simultaneously; maintain a flexible work schedule to meet changing demands for multiple concurrent projects.
  • Initiative and Adaptability: Take initiative and execute plans to accomplish strategic objectives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Computer Proficiency: MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook).

Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience with 3-5 years in a supervisory role in a Theme/Aquatic/Recreational facility managing ride and facility maintenance and water treatment operations.

Other:

  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements and regulations.
  • CPO Certification.
  • DOT Hazardous Materials Training, Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Training, DOT Incident Reporting Training, California Code of Regulations Title 22 Training, Lithium Battery Handling, Battery Hazard Communication Training, Aerial High Lift and Rescue Training, and Emergency Spill Response Training.

Relationships:

Internal: Interact with maintenance and management team.

External: Interact with a variety of vendors, suppliers, and service providers.
