Description
Dometic Marine's facility in Litchfield, IL is our main distribution center that manages the packaging and distribution of aftermarket marine and OPE industrial products.
Provide technical support to a multi-shift manufacturing and front office user community to identify and resolve computer software and hardware issues and problems. This includes implementation, maintenance, monitoring and troubleshooting of the voice and data communications infrastructure, planning of technology improvements, and ensuring information security. Perform cloud VOIP telephone support, document user inquiries and problems and work towards their solution. Provide one-on-one end-user training and assistance on a variety of software applications and computer hardware. Keep all documentation updated and be the main communication point for end users and 3rd party support (vendor or internal IT related). The ideal candidate is one who embraces change and is constantly looking for chances to improve IT infrastructure and procedures.

  • Perform analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex problems for end-users and recommend and implement corrective solutions.
  • Monitor Local Area Networks, computer hardware and software performance, security vulnerabilities or breeches including regular maintenance and monitoring of anti-virus.
  • Act as a liaison with vendor supported hardware and/or software when maintenance is required to coordinate maintenance windows and/or hardware availability for the vendor.
  • Ability to analyze, plan, and implement projects that maintain business continuity while considering fiscal responsibility.
  • Perform maintenance on voice and data communication infrastructure equipment.
  • Consult with customers to assist in obtaining hardware, software, and services; and assist the customer in obtaining the training necessary to use the products.
  • Install, configure, test, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot local and remote end-user workstations and related hardware and software.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve issues at the server, desktop, and network level.
  • Ability to use time management techniques to maintain customer service in a high-paced, heavy workload environment.
  • Carry out regular routine preventative maintenance schedule on hardware and applications while replacing equipment that has reached the end of life.
  • Must be able to interpret and make decisions in accordance with regulations and established policies.
  • Support customer issues and requests by creating, tracking, and documenting solution in a Managed IT Help Desk System and monitor the support queue.
  • Maintain tact and composure in stressful situations; communicate effectively and work cooperatively with other staff members and users of technical services; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, team members, other staff, and customers.
  • Supervised by manager(s) through reports, meetings and conferences regarding results expected and achieved.
  • Asset tracking of hardware and software inventory, including serial numbers and warranty information
  • Plans, research, and completes various IT projects as assigned by managers and corporate IT, identified by business needs, and/or as requested by peers.
  • Must be available on-call 24 x 7 via mobile phone and/or email.
  • Ability to perform IT maintenance during off hour maintenance windows which may include weekends or 3rd shift hours.
Requirements
  • 2+ years as IT Technician or relevant position or associate degree in IT related field.
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication ability
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of applications
  • Certification as IT Technician will be an advantage (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional)
  • Experience supporting SATO/Datamax barcode label printers in a production environment.

Training: 2 weeks.
