Creighton University - CHI Health Chief of Colorectal Surgery

Creighton University Medical Center and CHI Health seek to recruit a visionary leader to serve as the Chief of Colorectal Surgery and expand our clinical, research, and educational activities within our Department of Surgery and its Division of Colorectal Surgery.

The incumbent leader will join an established high volume group encompassing a wide breadth of colorectal surgical cases in the setting of a large established referral base within the Department of Surgery, Primary Care, and growing GI services within a large integrated health care system. The opportunity is ripe for a visionary leader to grow colorectal surgery in all of its domains in partnership with outstanding colleagues and forward-thinking and dynamic academic and business leadership. These clinical, academic, and educational domains include rectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, pelvic health, colorectal surgery quality just to name a few.

The program is part of our integrated, multispecialty system, working with every member in subspecialty surgery, committed to the highest outcome of every procedure we perform. In addition, our program is further augmented by our many other resources associated with our academic institution including our institute of population health and the nation’s only resident healthcare leadership program. Also, the Division of colorectal is an active participant in the Colon and Rectum fellowship.

Resident activity with the department of surgery is highly engaging at our academic flagship University Medical Center and Level I Trauma Center.

Candidates are expected to have a fellowship in colorectal surgery and a track record of scholarly and educational activities at the level of Associate to Professor at Creighton University School of Medicine.

  • Working in an academic and teaching environment educating Creighton University’s surgical residents and medical students and conducting research in collaboration with scientists within Common Spirit and Creighton University School of Medicine.
