Our client is a leading eMobility company with a unique and revolutionary EV-charging solution. They provide wireless charging systems that charge electric vehicles while driving. The charging system integrates mechanics, software, electronics, and high-voltage electricity. They are seeking an experienced business development professional to join their office in California.

The business development group is responsible for generating business and growth opportunities by developing strategic alliances with key partners, opening new verticals, defining new use cases, and selling to key customers in defined segments. In this role, you will lead these efforts end-to-end and work closely with the product and sales teams. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Responsibilities:

  • Understand the solution and relevant markets thoroughly to identify potential growth areas.
  • Propose and implement sales and delivery strategies that support the company’s go-to-market strategies and business objectives.
  • Leverage a deep understanding of California and federal EV mandates and incentive programs to advance commercial opportunities.
  • Pursue strategic business opportunities and close deals.
  • Open new verticals, generate new use cases and offerings to drive business and sales growth. Drive the scaling and sales replication of new use cases and offerings.
  • Build, manage, and own business partnerships and strategic consultant relationships.
  • Analyze market feedback to support strategic product decisions.
  • Manage complex business engagements from initiation to closing.
  • Seek out and support responses to RFI, RFQ, and RFP opportunities.
  • Act as a trusted advisor for partners globally on both business and technological matters.
  • Work closely with Presales and Professional Services teams to ensure successful onboarding completion.
  • Build and maintain effective and constructive relationships with all stakeholders, including customers and other strategic partners, to understand their needs and proactively engage to provide guidance and support.
  • Collaborate with existing and new customers to scale commercial opportunities.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in B2G or B2B sales or business development.
  • Proven track record of closing business deals.
  • Experience in managing, nurturing, and growing partner ecosystems.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with mobility issues related to EVs, ports, airports, and/or transit.
  • Proven track record in developing and managing complex business engagements from initiation to closing.
  • Experience in developing high-value relationships at the executive level with partners and customers.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Strong understanding of California’s EV mandate and incentive regulations and programs is an advantage.
  • Previous technical or engineering roles are an advantage.
  • Entrepreneurship experience is an advantage.
