The work, and what you'll do:
This role involves working as part of a team to design, develop, and deploy a state-of-the-art technology stack for a government agency. You'll contribute to the development and maintenance of a containerized microservices architecture, as well as technical systems administration and configuration. You'll also play a key role in fostering a DevOps culture and collaborating with various teams to ensure efficient and effective operations.


Responsibilities include:

  1. Design, deploy, and maintain a production big data pipeline using a microservice architecture.
  2. Enhance and improve CI/CD and DevOps scripts and processes.
  3. Design, develop, and support scalable infrastructure.
  4. Use Helm to configure Kubernetes deployments.
  5. Collaborate with System Engineers to design solutions and provide technical input to systems engineering documentation.
  6. Participate in Agile release planning and other meetings.

What you'll need:

  1. BS+ 8 years of experience in similar roles.
  2. Proficiency in Linux environments and experience with containerization or container orchestration tools (Docker, Docker Swarm, Kubernetes).
  3. Development experience with scripting languages (Bash, PowerShell, SALT, Python, Groovy, Java).
  4. Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively in cross-functional teams.

Familiarity with these technologies are a huge plus:
Kafka or other message passing systems (AMQP, JMS); Kubernetes monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana); SALT; Elasticsearch, Kibana, and Logstash (ELK); Helm and Helmfile; Nexus.


Clearance requirement: TS/SCI+CI Poly (within last 7 years). Please note, you MUST have the required clearance for consideration.


Location/telework: Hybrid schedule (3 days/week in office, with flexibility) with onsite location in Bethesda, MD.
