SUMMARY OF POSITION :
The Director of Brand Marketing will work alongside all of the leaders at PEARL iZUMi to lead the charge in evolving the brand to exceed our current position in the category. You will define and execute PEARL iZUMis brand and go-to-market strategies across digital, traditional, and on-site/event channels.
You will build comprehensive and actionable marketing plans for the brand, leveraging best in class creative thinking and delivering online and offline meaningful executions. As a strong leader, you will partner internally and externally to expand the brand reach, drive growth, and build unprecedented excitement for our brand.
This position requires specific experience managing a brand for a company in the outdoor sports industry, in direct-to-consumer and Wholesale environments. A passion for inspiring people to get out and participate in sports is a must.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Inspire the team and drive innovative marketing strategies to accelerate growth for the brand, with an emphasis on driving brand awareness and consumer demand across the D2C E-Commerce channel, retail and wholesale environments.
- Drive annual operating calendar planning, cross functionally, to ensure brand, product, and seasonal go-to-market campaigns are aligned, authentic, and drive growth; including the development of and gaining executive alignment of all KPIs and success metrics.
- In close collaboration with our creative lead, ensure strategic direction for all brand campaigns & assets, product launches and partnerships represent best-in-class content and storytelling with a strong commercial focus.
- Lead market research and drive consumer insights / listening activities to determine new market opportunities and validate messaging and validity. Transform information into actionable insights and recommendations.
- Align omni channel communications. Drive brand, product, and partnership campaigns with E-Commerce and retail marketing teams across all digital and in-store touchpoints.
- Work cross-functionally on all consumer-centric marketing channels to drive brand awareness, affinity, and sales conversion.
- In conjunction with E-Commerce team, support all digital touchpoints, including website enhancements, paid media, email marketing, digital advertising, loyalty program, reviews, etc.
- Work closely with Social Media function to support the development and implementation of a comprehensive social media strategy, including reporting and metrics.
- Lead all Public Relations activities and consumer facing communications.
- Develop and execute all partnership programs, including athlete, ambassador, and influencer and ensure alignment across consumer and customer-facing channels.
- Own event activation strategy and execution.
- Represent the brand at consumer events, media events, interviews, networking events/public relations, etc.
- Define and track KPIs and provide timely and consistent reporting on progress.
POSITION SPECIFICS:
- This is a full-time position
- Typical work hours and days are Monday Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- This position is based out of the Broomfield, CO office. Must be able/willing to work in the office at least 3 days per week (may increase in the future).
- About 20% travel is expected for this position.
PAY TRANSPARENCY:
- The Company is committed to fair, equitable, and transparent compensation. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as your relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location.
- The salary range for this role in Broomfield, CO is $130,000 - $175,000.
- In addition, you may be eligible for additional compensation, such as a bonus. Employees may also be eligible for a wide range of other benefits, including health & wellness benefits, retirement, time off, employee discounts, and others.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Overseeing a marketing team consisting of Marketing Associate and Sr Graphic Designer.
- Ongoing management of outsourced partners including agencies, contractors, and other entities.
- Responsible for quarterly reviews of direct reports.
- Recruit, train, lead, develop, evaluate and retain direct and indirect labor associated with PEARL iZUMi Marketing functions.
- Recommend and assist with employee development programs. Ensure performance objectives are outlined and completed thoroughly and in a timely manner.
- Work with Human Resources for coaching, counseling and corrective actions.
- 10+ years of brand strategy/marketing experience in a forward thinking consumer organization (upwards of $50mm revenue) in the outdoor industry.
- 5+ years as a strategic marketing executive with proven results in consumer organizations where marketing drives revenue.
- Experience managing the P&L for a Marketing department.
- Bachelors degree in marketing, digital marketing, advertising or related field required.
- Innovative thinker, with an in-depth working knowledge of the consumer landscape and proven track record of developing strategies and translating into actionable plans that deliver market share, sales growth, and profitability.
- Capable of developing a clear strategic vision and effectively communicating throughout all levels of the organization.
- Ability to influence and engage throughout the organization.
- Proactive, problem solving, self-starter with the ability to work independently with little oversight.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing, deadline-driven entrepreneurial environment with multiple, competing priorities.
- Track record of managing multiple projects and delivering results on time and on budget.
- Exceptional written, oral, and executive presentation skills with amazing attention to detail.
- Experience leading cross functional teams as well as direct employees, vendors and agencies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Power Point/KeyNote, Excel, GA, etc.
- Passionate and knowledgeable about the cycling community.
- Eat, sleep, live and breathe, generating demand.
