As a Senior Pursuit Strategist, you’ll be at the helm of high-impact proposal opportunities, collaborating with teams to deliver winning strategies in technology consulting engagements.Position Overview:The Senior Pursuit Strategist leads the development and execution of competitive, compelling, and client-focused proposals across multiple high-stakes technology consulting pursuits. This role demands a proactive leader with a track record in major consulting firms, who can synthesize complex information into winning strategies. You will directly influence growth and success by delivering innovative, market-aligned responses to RFPs, RFQs, and SOQs in critical infrastructure sectors.Key Responsibilities:Lead Strategic Proposals: Oversee competitive proposal opportunities, providing both tactical and strategic insight. Align pursuit strategies with the 1898 & Co. business objectives and client needs.Creative Content Management: Create visually striking proposal materials that support pursuit strategies. Maintain an up-to-date library of reusable content, including resumes, project plates, and other essential assets.Proposal Process Innovation: Drive continuous improvement of proposal management tools, processes, and methodologies. Ensure that each pursuit is underpinned by rigorous strategy, creativity, and compliance with client specifications.Client-Centric Solutions: Partner with account teams to execute tailored proposal strategies leveraging deep industry knowledge and client insights. Position 1898 & Co. as a best-in-class consultancy through compelling narratives and brand-aligned submissions.Leadership in Execution: Act as the central coordinator in all phases of the proposal lifecycle—from initial strategy meetings through submission and interview preparations. Lead cross-functional teams in crafting customized, visually compelling, and meticulously edited proposal materials.Adaptability & Precision: Manage multiple, concurrent projects, prioritizing effectively in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment. Ensure compliance with non-negotiable client deadlines, even when facing shifting priorities or last-minute requirements.Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with fellow employee-owners to gather insights and develop winning messages. Collaborate with technical SMEs to ensure clarity, consistency, and alignment with client needs.Quality Control & Brand Alignment: Conduct rigorous quality assurance on all proposals and pursuit materials. Ensure that all submissions reflect the brand voice, professional style, and strategic objectives of 1898 & Co.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business administration, or related field and 8 years in marketing, business development, or sales with a professional services firm ORAssociate degree and 10 years of experience in marketing, business development, or sales with a professional services firm ORHigh School Diploma/GED and 12 years of experience in marketing, business development, or sales with a professional services firm.Minimum 5-7 years in pursuit strategy or proposal management is preferred.Experience in a top-tier consulting firm (e.g., Accenture, BCG, McKinsey, Deloitte, or PwC) and proven experience leading large-scale proposals in the technology consulting space is preferred.Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients.Ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead and manage change.Candidates must possess strong project management skills and a strategic perspective.Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills and the ability to effectively communicate and influence stakeholders at all levels is preferred.A keen eye for detail in both content and design and the proven ability to produce highly customized, client-focused proposals that balance strategic insight with brand consistency is preferred.Extensive knowledge of the request for Information and Request for Proposal process, including previous experience developing and coordinating responses to RFPs.Extensive knowledge of and previous experience preparing and coordinating preparation of qualification submittals and proposal development regarding deliverables, schedules, and coordinating information resources to meet schedules.Ability to think conceptually and translate complex client needs into compelling proposals, as well as a track record of developing creative win strategies that position firms as leaders in their field, is preferred.Must be proficient in the use of computer software (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with InDesign is preferred.Exceptional project management abilities focused on driving proposals from strategy to execution. Outstanding writing, editing, and storytelling skills. The expected compensation range for this position is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location.
