(BCI) is a top lawn & garden supplier to independent garden centers, wholesale landscape commercial yards and mass merchants throughout the United States. Using advanced analytics capabilities and operational expertise, the Supply Chain Planner will manage the supply of finished goods and help create a more efficient, flexible, and responsive supply chain. The successful candidate will be intellectually curious, able to use advanced statistical analysis, understand and simulate supply chain constraints, a self-starter and able to clearly communicate complex ideas.


About the Supply Chain Planner

The Supply Chain Planner is responsible for managing and optimizing the supply chain process from forecasting and inventory management to supplier coordination and freight. This role ensures that the company maintains optimal stock levels, minimizes costs, and meets customer demand efficiently.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage the supply of finished goods sourced from multiple domestic and international vendors by timely and accurate placement of purchase orders in support of demand plan and company initiatives
  • Analyze and optimize appropriate inventory levels and maintain KPI’s to support the business
  • Develop strong and trusted partnerships with both Internal and External Customers and actively participate in regular S&OP meetings ensuring a complete understanding of the total supply chain.
  • Support the launch of new products to meet ship dates and limited out of stock situations
  • Tracking of purchase orders, product in transit to meet objectives as well as communication of delays/issues
  • Identify and execute action plans to manage E&O inventory, cycle stock and out of stock performance
  • Understanding vendor capacity and capabilities to best manage the flow of product
  • Accurately maintain all relevant master data to drive optimal system performance
  • Ad-hoc reports utilizing ERP and Supplier Portal
  • Suggest/implement continuous improvement processes

 


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 1-3+ years of experience in a planning or purchasing capacity preferably in a Consumer-Packaged Goods industry or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Advanced analytics skills with the ability to interpret results using a variety of techniques and communicate complex ideas effectively.
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and ERP system functionality is a plus (NetSuite and DemandCaster preferred)
