Associate/Vice President, Global Product Solutions (GPS), Global Strategy
BlackRock's Global Product Solutions business (GPS) was formed in 2024 with a mission to innovate, curate and commercialize the full breadth of our investment platform to meet our clients' needs, wherever they are. GPS partners across the firm to lead iShares and drive the commercial priorities across all the investment businesses. We do this by innovating the next wave of products and solutions, accelerating iShares adoption, sharpening our focus on active, scaling private markets and our transition businesses, and driving focus on commercial priorities through product prioritization.
About the Role
The Global Strategy team is responsible for driving business strategy and leading initiatives across regions and functions to accelerate commercial outcomes. Our project-based teams use qualitative and quantitative approaches to drive traditional strategy projects, solve unique business problems, and support the management of the GPS organization. We work in agile, cross-functional teams and work with partners across the breadth of GPS and BlackRock. Within GPS, you will work closely with senior leaders, product segment leads, commercialization teams, and COO and strategy teams around the world to develop insights and make measurable recommendations to advance growth.
Key Responsibilities

  1. Work with the strategy team, senior management and business leaders to determine strategic objectives and opportunities to meet these goals.
  2. Contribute to and execute upon business strategy projects and initiatives:
    1. Gather and synthesize information from a variety of sources (industry research, financial publications, and GPS and broader BlackRock colleagues).
    2. Build impactful written presentations to communicate findings to senior management and partner functions.
    3. Present findings and engage senior team members in problem solving.
  3. Partner with colleagues at all levels throughout GPS and the broader firm (e.g., Global Client Business, Corporate Strategy, Portfolio Management Group, BlackRock Global Markets, Finance, Corporate Communications) to drive projects to completion.
  4. Assist in formulating business intelligence and insights (e.g., competitor monitoring).
  5. Facilitate broader planning across the business and field ad-hoc requests from management.

  2. Potential development to broader business and progressively senior roles within GPS and at BlackRock.
  3. Track record of people migrating from strategy positions within BlackRock into elevated roles within a business or elsewhere in the firm.

Experience / Qualifications:
  1. Prior experience in asset management, wealth management, finance, investor relations or strategy consulting (financial services sector experience is preferred).
  2. Understanding of the asset management industry, including ETFs, active, and private markets.
  3. Experience in working with senior leaders, with the ability to translate sophisticated views and opinions into straightforward analyses.
  4. High levels of demonstrated ownership over work product and project engagement.
  5. High degree of professional discretion, integrity and judgment.

Skills / Knowledge:
  1. Technical skills: advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills with the ability to quickly produce management-level quality presentations and produce robust Excel models (forecasting, sensitivity analysis, summaries); coding skills preferred but not required.
  2. Process/project management: effective project management capabilities with the ability to manage timelines, monitor progress across different working groups and navigate trade-offs.
  3. Markets Acumen: understanding of the markets and how they intersect with our product and client segment dynamics.
  4. Innovation mindset and Intellectual curiosity: interested in the industry and looking to learn more about asset management, investment vehicles and BlackRock.
  5. Team player: high level of motivation, independence and inquisitiveness, comfort with ambiguity and the ability to function well under stress or time pressure; ability and desire to work horizontally at all levels of seniority to build relationships with key partners to drive execution; strong sense of judgement.

Compensation:
For New York City and California only the salary range for this position is $137,500 - $194,000. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including health care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
