The Brattle Group, a privately held, global economics consulting firm, is looking for an Accounting Administrator to join our Boston, MA office. This position will be responsible for the managing and processing of weekly accounts payable for the international entities and for employee expense reimbursements. In addition, the person will be responsible for various accounting activities and reconciliations in support of the consolidated monthly close process and financial reporting, and for specific assigned entities.Some of the day-to-day responsibilities of this role include:Review invoices for appropriate documentation and approval, in accordance with Brattle policies, prior to paymentCode and enter vendor invoices to respective accounts and projectsPrioritize invoices according to payment terms and ensure timely paymentReview, reconcile, and post employee expense reportsReview and reconcile corporate credit card billsPrepare standard and ad hoc journal entries as a part of the monthly closePrepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including cash, fixed assets, accrued expenses and prepaid expensesReview and analyze monthly G/L detail to ensure accuracy of postings and to help understand performance of the entity and provide explanations for variances/trendsAssist in the preparation and review of monthly consolidated financial statementsAssist in annual audits (US GAAP and local statutory audits) and prepare audit schedules as necessary.Assist in compliance with local tax regulations, including coordinating or preparing VAT/GST returnsServe as backup to other accounting group responsibilitiesAssist employees and vendors with problems/questionsProject work as may be neededTHE CANDIDATEBachelor’s Degree with a focus in accounting or business preferredMinimum of 1-2 years’ experience in general accounting, preferably in a professional services firmExperience and proficiency in using structured accounting systems is requiredProficiency in MS ExcelExcellent verbal and written communication skillsOrganizational and time management skills, as well as the ability to handle numerous projects and deliverables concurrentlyStrong attention to detail and independent problem solving skillsGoal-oriented with a positive, can-do attitude, and a collaborative working style, with a willingness to roll-up sleeves and get things doneStrong customer service focusOvertime, evening and/or weekend work may be requiredBrattle offers a competitive benefits package, base salary, and bonus program for eligible roles based on individual and firm performance. The anticipated base gross salary range for this position in Boston, MA is $50,000 - $63,000 annually.
