As the Regional Sales Manager, your more typical responsibilities will include:
Alignment with Store Managers on annual region sales plans
Developing regional sales plans relative to coverage, participation, closure, and sales team development
Managing account assignments through account team selection (Sales, Technology, Support), reviewing and adjusting sales team portfolios by balancing workload, performance, and territory
Execution of region sales plan to support OEM business plan expectations including review of CE/CCE sales and market share performance (month, quarter, annual), engagement with Inventory Management on machine/attachment/technology specifications and inventory mix (sales, demonstration needs, region seasonality), communicating and managing market transaction pricing information, gathering transaction pricing information and competitive marketing initiatives (offers, new products, etc.) communicating incentive programs to region sales team and developing, implementing, and tracking regional incentive programs
Engaging with the sales team on key customer relationships, including involvement in direct customer relationship development, complex deal structure, relationship building events, OEM events, Customer at-risk situations, multi-AOR customers
Coordinating and managing key OEM initiatives, including signature Customer Program / Corporate Accounts by managing customer plans and key relationships within the region and identifying and cultivating additional program candidates
OEM Product Evaluations by managing relationship between key customers and OEM partners when new product evaluations occur in the region
Managing and coordinating visits from OEM leadership to key customers
Developing the regional sales team through regular reviews of individual sales team members' performance and addressing pipeline, effort, results, expenses, CRM utilization and identifying individual development opportunities for each sales team member and engaging regularly with them on initiatives such as time management, organization, negotiating skills, product knowledge, system tools and utilization, working with others
Aligning with Store Managers on annual sales compensation programs, and reviewing sales team commission statements monthly
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Requirements include:
• Minimum of 5 years of prior sales management experience in the heavy equipment/earthmoving equipment industry required. Related equipment industry experience will be considered.
• Capable of quickly learning desktop applications including CRM software and dealership-specific platforms.
• Ability to talk to, work with, and listen to, a large diversity of people. Knowledge of the region in terms of both existing opportunities and future opportunities is highly preferred.
• Ability to multitask while maintaining a professional calm demeanor and the ability to coach and mentor others.
