MEG Corp. is growing, and we'd love to have you join our team! We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer Designer - New Graduate in our Boston, MA office.
The Mechanical Engineer Designer will perform calculations, system design, equipment selections, reports, progress submittals and BIM instructions for their project to assure project completeness and accuracy within the allocated period and monetary budget. This role will also review design methods, procedures, changes in scope, and client correspondence with the Lead Engineer in accordance with IMEG design standards.
Principal Responsibilities

  • Design portions of a project related to mechanical systems according to code and IMEG standards
  • Research resources for commercially available equipment
  • Assist with good client relations, project design notebook, and provide documentation for permanent record files
  • Assist with coordinating design and schedule with other disciplines such as architectural, structural, electrical, technology, clerical, and equipment suppliers
  • Assist with documenting design decisions, meetings, and instructions from client promptly while monitoring project design progress
  • Assist with review of all project documents for accuracy and completeness prior to requesting a final check
  • Assist with preparation and issuance of addendum information.
  • Conduct periodic job site observations and all other services as required by the contract services agreement
  • Other duties assigned by the employer
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans and drawings
  • Knowledge and prediction of physical principles, laws, and their interrelationships, and applications to understanding fluid, material, and atmospheric dynamics
  • Skill in the use of CAD software and BIM
  • Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel and Outlook
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree (Science) or equivalent
