Sales and Events Manager
Position Summary:
The Senior Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth through effective sales and marketing strategies. They will manage the sales team, establish relationships with key clients, and ensure the restaurant is meeting its sales targets and objectives.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Always provide the highest quality of service to customers.
- Quick and timely responses, development professional long-term business relationships.
- Excellent time management, self-management, and self-motivation.
- Must be organizationally savvy with a keen focus on detail.
- Must be self-motivated and able to fill schedule with continuous stream of customer contacts on property, on location or via the telephone and internet.
- Clear understanding of the restaurant’s business strategies. Able to set goals and determine action plans to meet those goals.
- Update action plans and financial objectives quarterly.
- Develop new business through obtaining accounts from competition, lateral development of existing accounts and contacting new customers in the market.
- The solicitation of new business should be through a combination of appointments, telemarketing, site tours, constant prospecting, entertainment on property and networking.
- Prepare weekly sales and productivity reports communicating customer contacts/opportunities for the week.
- Own and follow up on all details of customer events from booking to follow up.
- Work closely with the Director of Operations to ensure proposed rate negotiations meet the financial needs of the restaurant.
- Ensure proper follow up and communicate customer needs and profiles so seamless hand off can occur.
- Keep any managers on duty fully informed of all problems or matters of significance.
- Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve the overall objectives of this position.
- Maintain a favorable working relationship with all other company employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working environment.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Follow restaurant’s dress and grooming standards.
- Minimize safety hazards by following all safety rules and procedures.
- All other duties assigned.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand, walk, lift, and bend for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to bend and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Role may include job duties or tasks requiring repetitive motions.
Skills / Experience:
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience preferred.
- College degree or any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Must be detail-oriented and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Works well in stressful, high-pressure situations, including the ability to handle guest objections and disputes to satisfactory results.
- Must be able to show initiative in job performance, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn HRIS systems.
- Superior verbal/written skills and presentation skills in English.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays when required.
