Montclair State University is pleased to accept applications for the inaugural Vice Provost and Managing Director of Montclair Unbound.

Montclair Unbound is a new strategic initiative that seeks to centralize the support and management of all online academic offerings, which may include other offerings such as off-site, low residency, and non-credit programs that have a large online delivery modality. Through Montclair Unbound, the University aspires to offer degrees and other credentials that utilize online modalities to meet students where they want to learn.

This new leadership position has been created to develop and implement a strategic direction for Montclair Unbound, developing and delivering Unbound offerings that serve undergraduate, graduate, and professional students, as well as alumni and lifelong learners, across the state of New Jersey, the nation, and the world. The Vice Provost and Managing Director will oversee the design, development, and implementation of Unbound online courses and programs, ensuring alignment with quality standards and best practices. This leader will champion the University's commitment to student success by working hand-in-hand with senior administrators, faculty, and staff to provide compassionate, culturally relevant, and competent leadership and guidance around diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.

The ideal candidate will be a nationally experienced higher education leader and driver of online education and related digital innovations, with the credibility to serve as an internal and external champion of the value of technology as a tool to advance teaching and learning and to offer educational opportunities to a rapidly changing 21st century demographic. The Vice Provost and Managing Director will be a proven manager and collaborator with the communication and leadership skills required to work across a wide range of University constituencies and diverse external partners.
