The Role:

Reporting to the General Manager for Asia and Emerging Markets, the Commercial Operations Director will play a critical role in coordinating market-specific strategies to ensure optimal commercial performance across the region. This role involves close collaboration with global and regional teams to manage key commercial activities, including supply chain coordination, market analysis, sales operations, and customer experience—ensuring alignment with Moderna’s business objectives.

You will leverage your expertise in commercial operations and healthcare markets to partner with key internal stakeholders from Marketing, Alliance Management, Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Account Management, Medical Affairs, and Regulatory Affairs. Your primary focus will be implementing best-in-class commercial processes to enhance efficiency and drive market success.

Success in this role requires strong leadership and execution skills when working with global and regional teams. The ability to manage complex projects and ensure timely delivery of key objectives will be essential. You will need to build strong relationships across all levels of the organization and demonstrate a proven track record in program management, successful product launches, sales force effectiveness and operational excellence.

Here’s What You’ll Do:

  • Coordinate commercial initiatives, including product launches, market expansions, and global projects, ensuring clear alignment between global strategies and local market conditions.
  • Serve as a key liaison between global and regional teams, coordinating the execution of cross-functional initiatives and ensuring smooth communication and collaboration.
  • Oversee the implementation of operational strategies, supporting supply chain coordination, market analysis, sales operations and customer experience improvements.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs to assess the effectiveness of market strategies, providing insights to the Asia and Emerging Markets Leadership Team, in areas such as sales growth, customer satisfaction, market share expansion, and supply chain efficiency.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with global and local teams to drive strategic initiatives and to ensure operational processes are optimized for local execution.
  • Partner with Digital teams on the integration of digital tools and platforms to enhance customer engagement and streamline commercial operations.
  • Provide strategic leadership to cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence, and contributing to the continuous improvement of Moderna’s customer experience.

Here’s What You’ll Need (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in Sales/Marketing Operations within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare industries.
  • Demonstrated experience in executing commercial strategies, including product launches, in fast-paced, complex environments.
  • Proven ability to work as a liaison between global and regional teams, ensuring the effective execution of initiatives.
  • Strong project management skills, with a track record of delivering results on time.
  • Experience managing supply chain, sales operations, and other cross-functional processes.
  • Excellent collaboration skills, with experience working in a matrixed, cross-functional organization.
  • Strong analytical abilities, with experience tracking KPIs and driving continuous process improvement.

Travel and Working Conditions:

  • This role is based in the US but will require frequent collaboration with teams across Asia and Emerging Markets, which may involve adjusting to different time zones.
  • Occasional international travel may be required to support regional operations and attend key meetings or events.
