Job Requirements / Description
  1. Check with department supervisor on machine assignment and job assignment.
  2. Discuss with the current welder from the preceding shift about the machine’s performance and any possible difficulties encountered during the course of the shift; if applicable.
  3. Set-up welding equipment in accordance with specified set-up procedures and within acceptable set-up requirements.
  4. Fabricate welding jigs when necessary.
  5. Create an inspection checklist for first-time jobs.
  6. Conduct and document a first-piece inspection and obtain approval from Quality Control before proceeding.
  7. Perform adjustments on machines and/or programs as needed, based upon results of first-piece inspections.
  8. Weld parts, manually or robotically, according to specifications and within acceptable production requirements.
  9. Unload and package parts according to EIMCo standards and customer requirements.
  10. Complete accurate daily records (date, times, quantities of parts ran, and scrap) for every job worked on, on Shop Travelers and in the ERP system.
  11. Follow instructions from all JBT documentation, including: Shop Traveler, Inspection Sheets, and blueprints.
  12. Inform quality control, shift supervisor/ lead person of any problems or concerns with parts.
  13. Accept responsibility for the quality of products/services provided and perform all required inspections in accordance with the JBT Quality Manual.
  14. Perform required preventive maintenance on equipment, watch and listen for abnormal conditions, and report any concerns to maintenance and/or shift supervisor/lead immediately.
  15. Maintain assigned work area in a clean and orderly manner and comply with all 5S procedures.
  16. Conduct all tasks and behaviors in a safe manner and comply with all JBT Safety Policies, including the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, as outlined in the JBT Safety Manual.
  17. Maintain all required documentation.
  18. Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A high school diploma or GED is required.
1 to 2 years welding experience and/or equivalent education.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This is a safety sensitive position. This work is performed in a manufacturing setting with moderate to high levels of noise due to machinery and equipment processes. This position requires the use of personal protective equipment for safety compliance and may include overtime as deemed necessary by management.
