Job Summary

As a Purchasing Manager at the University of California Berkeley, you will be responsible for purchasing, warehousing and inventory management activities for different venues on campus. This includes implementing best practices, driving supply chain process improvements, and employing location purchasing teams.

Detailed Responsibilities

  1. Maintains "show quality" of all areas at all times
  2. Understands all menus, product offerings, packaging and pricing
  3. Establishes rapport with team members, management and partners
  4. Employs good safety and sanitation practices
  5. Practices proper product control and handling of all inventory and equipment
  6. Achieves daily sales and assigned cost goals
  7. Achieves assigned budget goals
  8. Contributes to required daily reporting
  9. Contributes to the completion of required department reports and assists in compiling information at month-end closing
  10. Ensures team members adhere to Levy Company guidelines as stated in the team member training manual and employee handbook
  11. Ensures that all security, safety and sanitation standards are achieved
  12. Ensures all products are properly stored, rotated and dated in accordance with the Levy guidelines
  13. Monitors inventory procedures for accountability
  14. Uses all performance management tools to provide guidance and feedback to team
  15. Promotes a cooperative work climate, maximizing productivity and morale
  16. Interviews, hires, trains and develops team members according to Levy guidelines
  17. Displays a positive attitude towards team members
  18. Other responsibilities, as needed

Job Requirements

  1. Experience in Supply Chain or Purchasing
  2. Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Hospitality or similar is preferred
  3. High level of computer literacy
  4. Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
  5. Curiosity for new technology and industry trends
