Position Summary:

Provide individual counseling to clients that reach out for a range of clinical needs. One hour of mandatory staff meeting per month and individual/ group supervision based on license status will also be provided. Full time status is 23 clinical hours per week.

Essential Responsibilities and Functions:

• Provide individual counseling to adults.

• Write treatment plans, progress notes, discharge summaries, and other chart entries as required by agency policies and procedures and ethical standards.

• Provide all services in compliance with practice policies, federal and state laws, professional ethical standards and Behavioral Health Licensure Regulation.

 • Consistently demonstrate an appropriate role model for clients and staff that embody the Cultivate ethos and values. Including empowerment and respect for all staff and clients.

 • Adhere to agency requirements of confidentiality, professional conduct, personnel and clinical policies, supervision, training, and job qualifications. 

• Attend and participate in individual and group supervision.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

• Ability to write clinical notes and professional documents in a clear and concise manner.

• Ability to demonstrate clinical skills of empathy, joining, observation and assessment.

• Knowledge of psychotherapy & counseling theory, treatment modalities and practice as it relates to trauma, anxiety, depression and a range of other clinical concerns. 

• Ability to diagnose behavioral health problems and disorders, and develop treatment plan based on a completed assessment.

• Demonstrated knowledge of legal and ethical issues relevant to counseling.

•  Ability to consistently schedule clients in an on-going manner in order to provide continuity of care.

• Ability to model a positive attitude, and healthy interpersonal boundaries with clients and staff.      • Demonstrate assertive, respectful and effective conflict resolution skills with staff and clients. 

• Working knowledge of computer skills such as word processing, e-mail, electronic health records. 


Minimum Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work or Marriage and Family Therapy.

• Current Arizona license at the Associate Level, LAC or LMSW. 


Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in individual, family, and /or group counseling. 

• Professional Training in advanced trauma treatment modalities (EMDR. Somatic Experiencing, NARM, etc.) and/or mindfulness based psychotherapy. 

• Experience in social justice oriented, multicultural, and/or advocacy-based counseling services.
