Key Objective(s):

The Automation Engineer will work closely with the Product and Engineering team to learn system administration, configuration tasks, and drive process improvement within the organization. This role blends technical and business analysis responsibilities, focusing on defining and deploying better workflows and, over time, building automation tools that streamline system administration tasks and facilitate internal and external requests. The position involves a hands-on approach to automating routine tasks, improving efficiency, and driving efficiencies across systems and processes.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Learn and manage system administrative and configuration tasks for various platforms.

  • Analyze current workflows and processes, identifying areas for efficiency improvement.

  • Define and deploy enhanced processes and workflows to reduce manual effort and streamline tasks.

  • Develop automation systems and tools to automate routine system administration and configuration tasks.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and implement automation solutions.

  • Provide documentation, process guidelines, and internal training materials for system administration and automation workflows.

  • Continuously monitor, optimize, and support automated systems to ensure stability and scalability.

  • Work closely with vendors and external partners to ensure successful integration of automation solutions with existing systems.

  • Manage configurations and updates across critical systems, including but not limited to:

  • Content management systems

  • Ticketing and POS systems

  • CRM platforms

  • Customer Support Systems

  • Project management tools

  • Develop KPIs, goals, and milestones for automation initiatives.

  • Act as a liaison between IT and business teams to ensure alignment on priorities and automation projects.

  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in automation and process improvement.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.

  • Familiarity with system configuration, scripting, and programming languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

  • Knowledge of automation tools and platforms (e.g., Jenkins, Ansible, Puppet) is a plus.

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, with strong problem-solving and multitasking skills.

  • Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure) and virtualization is an advantage.

  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and continuous integration/deployment pipelines is preferred.

  • Excellent communication skills and a focus on driving efficiency.
