Litigation Associate Attorney

A law firm is seeking a dedicated and experienced Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team in Long Beach, CA. This role requires a highly skilled professional to analyze legal and factual issues, develop defense strategies, and manage various litigation tasks with precision and efficiency.

Duties:

• Analyze legal and factual issues to develop defense strategies for clients.
• Prepare and draft pleadings, discovery requests, depositions, motions, and briefs.
• Conduct depositions and make court appearances as required.
• Provide timely and effective legal advice and communication to clients.
• Coordinate with clients' adjusters and representatives on case status.
• Liaise with courts, witnesses, opposing counsel, and co-counsel.
• Manage and efficiently dispose of assigned cases.
• Assist in preparing and presenting witnesses and evidence in trials, hearings, and alternative dispute resolutions.
• Log and record billable hours, meeting monthly billing expectations of 175 hours.
• Maintain punctual and responsive communication.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of litigation and insurance defense experience.
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-approved law school.
• Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar and/or Nevada State Bar.
• Exceptional legal writing and communication skills.
• Strong analytical abilities with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage a caseload with varying deadlines and priorities.
• Flexibility to appear in court and attend hearings in-person or virtually.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other legal technology.
• Mobile and able to travel between offices, courtrooms, and client meetings.
• Demonstrated stress management and high-pressure handling skills.
