ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Support and manage the design team within the local market, focusing on training, mentoring, and workload distribution.
  2. Uphold company policies and maintain high ethical standards in design.
  3. Oversee daily operations to ensure efficient and effective department performance.
  4. Maintain design standards and deliver high-quality work for all clients.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  1. Create and deliver training for the design team.
  2. Provide feedback and support for skill development.
  3. Monitor project progress and address issues.
  4. Ensure design work meets quality and client standards.
  5. Facilitate knowledge sharing and team collaboration.
  6. Evaluate and provide feedback on design performance.
  7. Stay current with industry trends and advancements.

WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE:

  1. 7+ years of dealership design experience, with a proven track record of managing and mentoring.
  2. Strong knowledge of interior commercial construction, architecture, design, and contract furnishings.
  3. In-depth product knowledge and application, including expertise with Herman Miller and Knoll products.
  4. Demonstrated experience in managing and developing design teams, with a focus on mentorship and professional growth.
  5. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  6. Ability to work independently with a designer and a team effectively.
  7. Strong project management skills and ability to balance multiple priorities.
  8. Proficiency in AutoCAD, CET, CAP, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite, and commercial furniture industry software, as well as willingness to learn and train on new systems.
  9. Commitment to continuous learning and staying up to date with industry trends.
  10. Strong interpersonal skills for building and maintaining relationships.
  11. Ability to travel locally to support projects and meet with team members, and occasionally be available for overnight travel for training and development.
