Overview

The Project Specialist will work on the Privacy Readiness Program on the Privacy Operation team as the lead for the communications, change management, training, and stakeholder relations for implementing and running an enterprise program including a new technology platform, OneTrust, and business processes to support Company policies and initiatives for enhancing customer experiencing, fortifying risk management, and complying with current and anticipated data privacy laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities
  • The Project Specialist will work on the Privacy Readiness Program on the Privacy Operation team as the lead for the communications, change management, training, and stakeholder relations for implementing and running an enterprise program including a new technology platform, OneTrust, and business processes to support Company policies and initiatives for enhancing customer experiencing, fortifying risk management, and complying with current and anticipated data privacy laws and regulations.
  • This role will be responsible for managing engagement and readiness of stakeholders from the design through adoption of program processes, procedures, and tools for operationalizing the management of personal data and embedding a privacy-by-design culture across the enterprise
  • Collaborate with Privacy Compliance, Data Governance, and other groups to define roles and boundaries while aligning messaging and positioning of efforts to maximize impact of shared objectives
  • Create and maintain project documentation and as required such as change management strategy, stakeholder registry, and develop and implement associated plans.
  • Develop messaging and communication materials and project artifacts to proactively engage stakeholders, build awareness, solicit input, and gain alignment to positively influence project outcomes. Ensure that materials are maintained and kept up-to-date as the program matures.
  • Conduct research and perform benchmarking with utilities and other businesses and organizations like the IAPP to stay informed of new legislation, trends, and best practices.
  • Perform surveys, hold focus groups, and manage other activities, as appropriate, to gauge stakeholder engagement and business readiness across all stakeholder groups
  • Support a customer-centric culture, taking special interest in meeting the needs of external and internal stakeholders.
  • Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience
  • Associate's Degree and 5 years of work experience. 5 years of change management, privacy, data, project, or other relevant experience. or
  • Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of work experience. 3 years of change management, privacy, data, project, or other relevant experience. or
  • Master's Degree and 2 years or work experience.
Preferred Education/Experience
  • Master's Degree and 2 years or work experience.
Relevant Work Experience
  • Proven experience in organizational change management and customer experience management for large, complex projects and programs, required. and
  • Ability to work independently as well as drive results by collaborating with stakeholders to build consensus, required. and
  • Demonstrated ability to be well organized, detail oriented, and flexible to handle multiple assignments and deadlines, required. and
  • Proven leadership and interpersonal skills and strong ability to communicate clearly and effectively (written and oral) with all levels of the organization, required. and
  • Experience developing and delivering presentations and creating documentation that can be consumed by users of diverse background and skills, required. and
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills with experience writing reports, business cases, or white papers, required. and
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint), required. and
  • Experience in a privacy, data privacy, or data governance-related role in operations, risk management and/or compliance, and/or implementing privacy program elements, preferred. and
  • Experience working at a utility or in a similar regulated industry, preferred. and
  • Experience using or implementing OneTrust or similar privacy technology, preferred. and
  • Supervisory/management experience with employees, vendors, and contractors, preferred.

Additional Physical Demands
  • Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
  • Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory, as needed.
