The Population Health Data Analyst works closely with the Population Health Manager and Data Reporting Manager to ensure the success of the CalAIM Program and other grant-funded programs by developing, coordinating, and managing compliance, quality assurance, and required documentation and billing processes for the program. They will also oversee the program reporting consisting of any data report submission according to established guidelines by DHCS, each contracted MCP, and other grant-funded program standards.
Qualifications
Education:
- Required: Bachelor's Degree in Business Management/Administration, Healthcare Administration, Health Informatics, Computer Science, or other Healthcare related field, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred: Master's degree in Business Management/Administration, Health Administration, Health Informatics, Data Analytics, or other Healthcare related field.
Experience:
- Preferred: Five or more years' experience as a health system analyst, leading/managing projects, working with end users to extract, document, and optimize data collection and reporting.
- Direct experience with electronic health records (EHR), Cerner.
- Data management & reporting.
- Previous experience in social service programs.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Understands the principles and practices of healthcare systems, including state Medi-Cal program and managed care organizations.
- Proficient with computers and technologies used for work outputs including: Microsoft Office programs; Intermediate Level Excel knowledge.
- Business Intelligence tools.
- Advanced Internet research.
- Analyzes program specifications for data collection and reporting.
- Adapts to ongoing change in program specifications.
- Communicates technical information to audiences with varying levels of technical knowledge.
- Works independently and collaborates as needed with immediate team and other departments.

Job Responsibilities
Essential:
- Supports data needs of the CalAIM program and other grant-funded programs in the Population Health division.
- Runs reports using dashboard analytics to monitor program enrollment, staff productivity, program funding source targets/revenue, active/inactive client counts, and other reports as requested and distributes reports as required.
- Assists with the development and implementation of workflows, policies, procedures, and documentation related to program data management.
- Provides technical training and assistance to staff supporting CalAIM and other grant programs.
- Assists with data collection and reporting pertaining to activities of the program outcomes, demographics, and any additional data as required by each program.
- Identifies potential data collection roadblocks and proposes solutions.
- Ensures accuracy, completion, and timely submission of data reports to appropriate health plans and DHCS.
- Utilizes software applications for data management, analysis, and reporting.
- Provides the Population Health department leadership team with accurate analysis of data for the purposes of identifying areas needing improvement, as well as working collaboratively with key departments and individuals in developing strategies and initiatives to help improve compliance with the program.
- Compiles data from multiple sources and distributes reports to support the program and staff as appropriate.
- Stays current with latest changes/updates/best practices of the CalAIM and grant programs from DHCS and each contracted health plan. Analyzes changes/updates from current practice and shares this information with appropriate leadership and teams.
- Serves as the liaison between IT and Population Health to ensure change requests to EHR forms and templates are submitted and implemented per program guidelines.
- Participates in workgroup activities and provides input on relevant findings for program improvement.
- Prepares periodic data reports for programs.
- Prepares reports/graphs for Manager/Director for submission to Kaweah Health committees/workgroups.
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and services appropriate to the population served on the assigned unit or work area.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Pay Range: $27.35 - $41.03
