Supvervisory General Engineer

Position Description

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY GENERAL ENGINEER in SYSTEM SAFETY/ R&M BR (BL32100) of the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, SE & ALRE Group of NAVAIRWARCENADLKE

Position Duties/Responsibilities

• You will perform planning efforts for the branch and develop budget documentation to support Branch initiatives; identifying, preparing, submitting and defending justification for expenditures as well as report on branch accomplishments.
• You will work with the R and M technical lead to ensure proper staffing and technical support is provided to program managers.
• You will plan, coordinate, manage and direct the development and implementation of national-level integrated strategic business plans, policies, guidance, and metrics for the Systems Safety consistent with mission objectives and MIL-STD-882
• You will conduct and review System Safety Risk Assessments and other Safety branch analyses for technical accuracy and compliance with DOD and NAVAIR policy and provide support for System Safety Risk Assessment briefs to Senior NAVAIR leadership.
• You will coordinate with program managers on system safety and technical matters, ensuring DoD, Navy and NAVAIR policy is appropriately tailored and adhered to
• You will work with leadership to develop and update NAVAIR system safety policy, SWPs, procedures and programs to satisfy DoD, and Navy weapon system program requirements for system safety.
• You will participate in the System Safety Community of practice engaging with leadership to constantly improve upon NAVAIR System Safety processes
• You will support the Safety Governance Structure and support programmatic briefs for platform Class Desk Safety Reviews, Program Safety Reviews, NAVAIR Chief Engineer Safety Reviews and reviews with the Naval Aviation Enterprise Leadership.
