We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Manufacturing Engineer to add to our dynamic engineering team. This role will support new and ongoing projects for our magnet wire production facilities.
Essential Duties :
Support of magnet wire manufacturing business using mechanical and related engineering skills and experience. The primary objective will be the development of engineered solutions to fulfill equipment and process development objectives that will successfully industrialize new and improved methods to fulfill customer requirements. The typical scope of work will include sourcing and/or modifications of existing equipment, commercially available equipment, and development of new and proprietary equipment.
Position requires ability to convert concepts into key deliverables to meet specific project objectives and fulfill production needs. Typical project work will include work package scope development, detailed equipment design and/or component specification, equipment and component quoting, vendor management, schedule management, installation design, installation execution, commissioning, and post commissioning support. This role will interact with and receive input from other technical groups to develop full vision of deliverables required to fulfill customer needs.
This is an exciting and unique opportunity to have a broad ownership of project work packages which span conceptualization, design, realization, hands-on execution with full cradle-to-grave ownership of project work packages. This opportunity spans a diverse range of equipment types including but not limited to; conductor forming processes, annealing processes, process heating, packaging, test equipment, and support systems.
Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS in mechanical engineering with three (3) to five (5) years design experience in machinery design, continuous improvement, and operational/functional analysis.
  • Possess an understanding of the following areas: machine design, part and assembly fabrication methods, machine assembly, rotating equipment design, and GT&D.
  • Successful candidate will have background in one or more of the following areas: machinery development, modification or improvement, troubleshooting, installation, and commissioning.
  • Candidate will be knowledgeable in machining, assembly, mechanics of materials and materials analysis.
  • Must be proficient at 2D and 3D CAD, MS Project, and other MS applications.
  • Travel for this position is 20% on average with some heavier travel periods per project needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • MSME degree or other related advanced degree.
  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt.
  • Project management certification or relevant training.
  • Experience in finite element analysis, CAE analysis tools, machine modeling and characterization.
  • Experience related to wire drawing equipment design or similar metal forming processes.
  • 3+ years engineering experience in an industrial environment with a strong background in facilities and manufacturing.
  • Experience in machine repair and refurbishing.
  • Proven track record in estimating, preparing, and managing project budgets.
  • Experience managing contractors and vendors.
