Position : Full-Time Lecturer, Associate Director of Forensics, Speech and Debate (1 to 3-academic year(s) appointment, renewable)
Effective Date: August 19, 2024 (Fall Semester)
Salary Range: The Full-Time Lecturer B (Academic Year) classification salary is $71,100 to $151,128 per academic year (paid as 12 monthly payments). The anticipated hiring range is $85,000 to $90,000 per year. Salary offered is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Minimum Qualifications:
- M.A./M.S. or Ph.D. in Communication or related field
- Demonstrated potential for teaching excellence
- Experience as a director, assistant director, or speech and debate coach
- Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience administrating a full-service forensics program and hosting forensics tournaments
- Ability to teach courses in argumentation and debate; a commitment to engaging students outside of the classroom through providing support, including mentoring, and program development
- Teaching experience demonstrating excellence on the university level
Duties:
- Work with department specialists to manage budget and team travel requests
- Compose yearly IRA request and attend hearings
- Host Jack Howe Memorial tournament and other local and national tournaments at the high school and college level
- Schedule and attend team meetings (2x a week)
- Recruit on-campus and off-campus – particularly LA Urban Debate League schools
- Coordinate team travel arrangements and attend some forensics tournaments
- Foster alumni and community relations
- Perform other duties necessary to administer a full-service forensics program
