The Sr. Director of Sales Enablement will play a pivotal role in our organization, working in close collaboration with various departments including the Commercial teams, Product Management, Product Marketing, Sales Operations, Corporate Marketing and R&D. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that our sales team is equipped with a comprehensive understanding of our sales methodology, our sales processes, and our extensive product portfolio, including the technical and business competitive markets.

You will, in conjunction with sales leadership, manage our sales methodology to support sales to new and existing customers in the life sciences and pharma / biotech segments. You will collaborate with product management and product marketing to build and manage training on Standard BioTools products (CyTOF, Microfluidics and SomaScan platforms), use cases, competitors, and ensure the field is kept up to date with relevant information to enable sales. You will arm our sales teams with information and act as an advisor to help build the opportunities funnel and close sales. Successful candidates must be passionate about developing talent, knowledgeable about selling, and able to understand company objectives and develop ideas to achieve them.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Possess a deep understanding of the market and end customers.
  • Evaluating strengths and weaknesses against company strategy to identify and develop sales training needs.
  • Collaborating with sales management to develop and deliver a quarterly curriculum for our field teams that incorporates selling skills, systems & process, product & competition and market ecosystem.
  • Develop our onboarding training program for new sales hires and deliver to new sales employees distributed across the globe.
  • Ensure effectiveness of training and messaging by measuring efficacy for specific customer and market segments. Propose and deploy necessary adjustments to continuously improve as market conditions and product offerings change.
  • Manage our product training structure and managing ongoing training on new products and key features as they are released.
  • Collaborate with product marketing on ad-hoc trainings on products, competitors, and verticals as needed.
  • Coordinate with sales and marketing to ensure sales tools, marketing collateral and training content are easy to find and use.
  • Gather input from customers and the commercial team on ways to improve training programs, structure, and resources and implement changes to continuously improve our sales training delivery.
  • Measure leading and lagging indicators of enablement program impact and report on training attendance/completion in correlation to performance.

Minimum Qualification:

  • 10+ years in training and enablement in the Life Science Tools market
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a Life Science discipline. Master's and PhD preferred
  • Experience working with both capital equipment sales cycle and consumables
  • Proven track record of managing transformational, and multi-disciplinary commercial change initiatives
  • Expertise in change management principles, methodologies, tools and innovation, and cutting-edge best practices
  • Mobilizes and leads large, complex cross functional technology project teams
  • A solid understanding of how people learn and retain information and how they go through a change
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent active listening skills
  • Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations.
