Property Accountant

CFS has partnered with a leading real estate firm managing a world-class portfolio of 100+ commercial and residential properties, including high-profile and international assets.

We're seeking a smart and eager Property Accountant to manage financial reporting for a set of properties, working alongside the Group Controller.

Location: Stamford, CT

Work Modality: 100% in-office

Compensation: $80,000 - $90,000 (depending on experience)

Key Responsibilities

1. Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings
2. Prepare financial statements (GAAP, Tax, and Fair Value basis)
3. Assist with reporting to management, investors, and lenders
4. Support annual audits with independent CPA firms
5. Oversee cash flow, budgets, and expense approvals
6. Manage CAM/Tax reconciliations and sales tax filings
7. Oversee lease administration, AR, and AP functions
8. Perform ad hoc reporting as needed

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
2. 3+ years of experience in commercial real estate accounting
3. Solid understanding of GAAP, Fair Value, and Tax basis accounting
4. Experience with Real Estate Industry Software (Yardi, MRI)
