Calvert Street Group is looking for an experienced Director of Digital to work with and lead the firm’s digital and creative services team, define and implement recommendations for clients and provide strategic advice.

Our ideal candidate will be able to collaborate cross-functionally and work with outside consultants to create objectives and achieve goals for client engagements. The Director will leverage online advocacy and organizing, creative services, and social media skills to manage a full-stack digital team and a portfolio of grassroots organizing projects for a variety of clients facing land-use or other advocacy challenges. The candidate will thrive in a collaborative and fast-paced environment, valuing teamwork and shared success.

Previous political campaign experience is a plus, although not required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the digital team staff and oversee projects
  • Serve as a senior advisor for client projects
  • Design and implement digital strategies for clients within budget requirements
  • Recruit, train and mentor new digital staff
  • Implement and oversee use of all digital tools Set specific digital objectives and monitor progress

Requirements

Minimum qualifications

  • 5+ years of proven work experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and team management skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Bachelor's degree in digital communications, marketing or another related field

Digital Advocacy and Organizing

  • Experience with integrating platforms and digital organizing tools to increase workflow efficiency
  • Expertise in managing SEO/SEM, CRM software, workflow automation, email marketing and online ad campaigns
  • Experience with form creation and petition collection in online formats is a plus

Creative services

  • Experience with overseeing the development of visual identities, logos, campaign themes and other creative assets
  • Adept at working cross-functionally to meet clients’ goals and set realistic timelines
  • Experience approving creative deliverables to maintain high-quality standards, ensuring output aligns with clients’ brand guidelines and targets desired audiences
  • Expertise in creating political mailers strongly preferred but not required

Social media

  • Experience managing the creation of engaging social media content and overseeing content calendars for a portfolio of projects
  • History of running successful ad campaigns on social media platforms such as Facebook, X and Instagram
