Job Details

Our client is looking to hire a Control Systems Engineer (Electrical Engineer) to join their team! This role will support an interdisciplinary team with expertise in integrating new machines into both new and existing locations. Responsibilities include specifying electrical systems, controlling project expenditures, supervising contractors and vendors, and managing project schedules. You will drive conceptual solutions for production processes and ensure their implementation meets project goals, with a strong focus on sustainability and safety.

This position is based in Shelbyville, KY, with required travel to various project sites and the Global Engineering Hub in Edwardsville, IL, as needed.

Control Systems Engineer (Electrical Engineer) Responsibilities:

Manage all electrical specifications for projects from concept to completion
Keep projects on schedule and control electrical expenditures
Ensure system design and final implementation meet project goals
Clarify electrical interfaces with IT and machine data processing
Handle power supply requirements, including high voltage interfaces
Fully integrate new machines into existing structures
Develop automation architecture and functionality
Conduct safety analysis and design electrical safety chains
Clarify machine data processing and acquisition needs
Identify required electrical components
Collaborate on new HMI architecture and process display needs with colleagues and partners
Program PLCs
Supervise maintenance, contractors, and vendors
Control Systems Engineer (Electrical Engineer) Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field
2-3 years of related experience, ideally in designing and realizing electrical machine concepts
Strong skills in electrical, electronic, PLC, and process computer systems for complex manufacturing equipment
Familiarity with OSHA and electrical safety codes
Beneficial expertise: EPLAN 2D, Siemens & Allen Bradley PLC programming, IBA, SAP, Office 365, PM
Strong organizational and communication skills to support and guide interdisciplinary project teams
Experience with Siemens Step7, RsLogix, WinCC, Ignition, FactoryTalk
Knowledge of NFPA/EU Standards
Experience with AC/DC Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), particularly Siemens
