Position Summary:
This position is in the Miscellaneous Segment of Customer Relations. Provides customer with information regarding status of records, tax returns, or other transactions. Provides guidance on options to correct deficiencies, problems, or errors. Reviews the complete customer profile which includes all tax accounts and licenses for which the customer is registered. Performs account management of accounts for liquor drink, liquor enforcement, transient guest, tire excise tax, vehicle rental excise tax, environmental surcharge and solvent fee (dry cleaning), retail water protection fee, and stock and industrial use water protection fee, as well as licensing and maintaining bingo and raffle accounts and the selling of drug tax stamps. Performs account adjustments, abatements, and/or assessments. Performs nonfinancial account management involving maintenance of demographic information. Processes returns, remittances and refunds. Assists walk-in customers with registration and financial account management. Assists with training of new personnel and processes as needed. Assists with problem resolution for Customer Service Representatives. Prepares, reviews, and prints billing notices for tax types listed above which may result in additional account maintenance. Researches and resolves renewal issues. Participates in informal conferences by telephone and in person. This position requires a professional attire and a customer service orientation. Provides customer education in a professional manner. Ensures that customers needs are met in a professional and efficient manner.

Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum Qualifications: One year experience in interviewing, investigating or providing technical assistance to clients, customers, or the public, and one year experience or education in auditing or accounting support work. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.
Preferred Experience: Proficient in Microsoft Office products or like kind, experience in ATP/ACM and Legacy. Knowledge of tax laws, regulations, policies and procedures. Ability to apply guidelines to individual situations. Demonstration of good customer service, communication and time management skills. Ability to detect, correct and explain irregularities and violations by applying tax accounting principles. Ability to train and answer questions for Customer Representatives.
Preferred Skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, proofreading, editing, and attention to detail.
Post-Offer, Pre-employment Requirements: KBI and FBI fingerprint required due to access to Federal Tax Information files in KDOR systems.
