Department Information

On September 5, 2024, the seventh college and first to be established in over thirty years at Georgia Institute of Technology was launched, the College of Lifetime Learning seeks to elevate the academic study of learning and transform how individuals and organizations understand and practice learning at all levels and ages.

The College is committed to providing accessible, affordable, and achievable education for learners at any stage of life. This will be accomplished through research and the development of future-oriented services designed by faculty and research teams with expertise in the science and technology of learning. The new college will offer non-credit courses and credentials, and beginning in 2026, it will offer degree and other credit programs.

We are seeking an experienced human resources practitioner to support the mission and vision of the College of Lifetime Learning. The Senior Human Resources Consultant will support multiple units across the college to advise and counsel staff, faculty and leaders of HR best practices, culture engagement and development. This tactical HR generalist role will be part of the new centralized HR model to ensure consistent practices and guidance across the college.

Job Summary

The HR Consultant Sr position serves as a management advisor and facilitator in the application of human resources policies and procedures for assigned unit(s). Assists with implementation of new or revised human resources policies and programs within the unit(s).
This position will interact on a consistent basis with: unit management and staff, Georgia Tech Human Resources management and staff, and Faculty Affairs
This position typically will advise and counsel: unit leadership and staff
This position may supervise assigned staff

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Interpret human resources policies and advise unit management regarding application
Job Duty 2 -
Consult with units by providing advice and guidance related to human resources matters
Job Duty 3 -
Review, analyze and advise management regarding human resources actions and issues (compensation, new hires, promotions, onboarding, offboarding, etc.). Coordinate resolution of exceptions
Job Duty 4 -
Consult with Employee Relations unit in the guidance and facilitation of processing formal employee relations issues, conflict resolution, investigations, disciplinary actions, and terminations
Job Duty 5 -
Serve as key liaison between assigned unit's management, Georgia Tech Human Resources, and Faculty Affairs, regarding all human resources related issues
Job Duty 6 -
Collaborate and partner with Talent Acquisition/Recruiting team on recruiting needs to support onboarding efforts
Job Duty 7 -
Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Experience
Five to seven years of job related experience

Certifications or licenses preferred: PHR, SHRM-CP, SPHR, or SHRM-SCP
Preferred Educational Qualifications
Master's Degree
