Healthcare Billing Specialist

Summary

We are seeking a Healthcare Billing Specialist to join our team at Williamson Health. As a part of our system, your talents will be valued and your skillset expanded. The Healthcare Billing Specialist will primarily involve billing and follow up on accounts for services rendered, ensuring accurate and timely payment from insurance carriers. This role serves as a liaison between patients and insurance carriers, works with hospital departments and physician's offices, and assists with daily billing reports and correcting errors before claim submission. This position also serves as a fill-in for the EMS Coordinator when needed.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Prior experience in a hospital setting or related area
• Proficiency with Meditech System, SSI Electronic Billing System, Excel, Word, and other standard office equipment
• Ability to sit for prolonged periods, use repetitive motions, and have a clear, understandable telephone voice

Responsibilities

1. Accurately process all payer accounts assigned daily
2. Process all payer paper claims when necessary
3. Analyze EOBs and remittances for secondary insurance filing
4. Communicate with insurance payers and document all discussions
5. Handle and prioritize multiple tasks
