Koniag Government Services is seeking the highest quality candidates for the United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) in support of the direct care and supervision (DCS) and facilities maintenance (FM) services at the 800-bed influx care facility (ICF) in Greensboro, North Carolina. The Koniag Team will provide direct care to unaccompanied children ages 13-17 years), ensuring all personnel, services, and resources necessary to provide for the care and supervision of unaccompanied children housed at the ICF as specified by HHS ORR and ensuring required corresponding regulatory and statutory guidance are met.
The Chief Medical Officer provides leadership and oversight for the administration of the medical services for on-site health units for various care scenarios, including emergency and refugee efforts.
Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:
- On-Site Medical Services Management
- Direct patient care
- Supervise medical staff.
- Oversight and management of on-site medical services.
- Medical oversight into all service delivery functions, ensuring compliance with federal and local laws and regulations.
- Planning and Oversight
- Medical staffing, loading, and scheduling plans to meet medical support and care requirements.
- Supports other Clinic personnel in overseeing the operations of Primary Care, specialty, and all ancillary services performed in the on-site clinic.
- Provide and develop medical support documents for refugee services.
- Provide Medical procedures care services.
- Vaccinations
- Treatment of Communicable Disease
- Mental Health and Psychiatric Including Referrals.
- Referrals to Local Hospitals.
- Liaison with Local Health System.
- Emergency Scenarios.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Chief Medical Officer Experience, Education, Skills, and Abilities requested:
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
- 5 years of clinical experience as a Physician in either Emergency Medicine, International Medicine, or Family Practice and
- 5 years’ experience in a HealthCare Leadership position.
- Hold and maintain a current unrestricted U.S. Medical License.
- (Preferred) Board Certification in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Family Practice.
- Experience in managing emergency response, refugee, and humanitarian medical services is a plus.
- Proficiency with computer and common office equipment, as well as with MS Office products required.
- Perform duties in a stressful and high-paced environment without physical limitations.
- Ability to adapt to sudden changes and flexibility in work requirements to include potential shift changes based on operational needs and/or command priorities.
- Must be able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, be organized, and have excellent verbal and communication skills.

This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.
The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
